Name of the Game - Insurance Agent

So, who is an insurance agent? Well, to put it simply, a person who sells insurance. Life insurance? Well not exactly. The insurance sector is divided into two - Life Insurance and General Insurance. Everyone has heard about the the life insurance sector but what is this general insurance?

General insurance relates to insurance of motor vehicles, buildings, cattle, health, and so on. In simple terms, it is 'generally' for everything. At United India we primarily deal in general insurance. Where life insurance fails, general insurance shines.


Now, you must be wondering how can one become an agent.?

•  Anyone who has passed class 12th in case of urban areas 
• 10th class pass-out in case of rural areas with population less than 5000.

That is the minimum qualification but apart from that the potential candidate must pass IRDA 33 exam in case of life insurance and IRDA 34, in case of general insurance, and the best part is that it is extremely easy. A person can act as an agent for only one company; one general insurance company and one life insurance company to be precise.

So what are you waiting for; anyone can become an agent; you, your friend, your friend's friend, your neighbour, a housewife, a teacher, a preacher, your cousin, your mother in law, your aunt's distant cousin's niece's son....phew ...the list goes on and on.
